Oregon State football recruiting experiences setback, then makes strides forward

Oregon State University added two new recruits to its 2025 football recruiting class this week, bringing the total number of commitments to 10. Tight end Cody Siegner from Crane and safety Zephen Walker from Texas have joined the Beavers, but the team also faced a setback as offensive lineman Brian Tapu from Salt Lake City decommitted and chose to commit to Nebraska instead.

Siegner, who hails from a family with strong ties to Oregon State, is a multi-sport athlete with a successful background in basketball and rodeo. He is a highly sought-after player with offers from schools like Washington State, Air Force, and Boise State. Walker, a standout at Lewisville High, had impressive stats in his junior year and received offers from schools such as Coastal Carolina and Army.

The Beavers’ 2025 recruiting class now includes players from various positions such as offensive line, wide receiver, running back, cornerback, outside linebacker, safety, and inside linebacker. These new commitments add depth and talent to Oregon State’s roster for the future.

Despite the loss of Tapu, the Beavers are focused on building a strong recruiting class and continuing to attract top talent to their program. Head coach Jonathan Smith and his staff are working hard to secure commitments from promising young athletes and build a competitive team for the upcoming seasons.
