Class of 2024 Inducted into OSU Athletics Hall of Fame

Former Oregon State gymnast Leslie Mak is set to be inducted into the Oregon State University Athletics Hall of Fame in September, as announced earlier this month. Mak, who competed for Oregon State from 2009-12, was surprised and honored to receive the news from her former teammate and friend, Alexis Serna, who is now the director of Beyond Football at OSU and chairs the Hall of Fame committee.

During her time at Oregon State, Mak was a standout gymnast, winning numerous accolades including being named the Pac-10/Pac-12 gymnast of the year in 2011 and 2012. She was a first-team all-American in 2011 and a second-team all-American in 2012. Mak will join a distinguished group of inductees in the 2024 class, including athletes like Derek Anderson, Darwin Barney, and others.

In a statement, gymnastics coach Tanya Chaplin praised Mak for her dedication and excellence in collegiate gymnastics, noting that her legacy will forever shine in the Hall of Fame. Mak, who now lives in Cincinnati, expressed her excitement to return to campus for the Hall of Fame weekend and see the new gymnastics training facility.

The induction ceremony will take place on Sept. 13, with the inductees being recognized on the field during the football game against Oregon the next day at Reser Stadium. Mak’s impressive achievements and contributions to Oregon State’s athletic legacy have earned her a well-deserved spot in the university’s Hall of Fame.
