Five people, including the suspect, were killed and three others were injured in a shooting in Florence, Kentucky. The incident took place early Saturday morning when officers responded to multiple calls of an active shooter at a residence. Four victims were pronounced dead on the scene, and the three injured individuals were taken to a local hospital and are in stable condition. The victims were confirmed to be two females and two males, all adults.
The suspect, an adult male, had already fled the scene in a car by the time police arrived. A pursuit ensued, and the suspect eventually drove off the road into a ditch where he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Initial investigations indicate that the suspect acted alone, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded alongside Florence officers, but they are not conducting a separate investigation. Florence is located about 12 miles southwest of Cincinnati, Ohio.
