Russian attacks continue to escalate in the ongoing war in Ukraine, with multiple casualties reported in recent developments. In northeast Ukraine, two people were killed and dozens of buildings damaged in a missile attack using Russian Iskander missiles. Separately, a man was killed in the city of Nikopol due to artillery shelling. The death toll also rose in an attack on a playground in Mykolaiv, with four killed, including a child, and 24 injured.
Ukraine’s air force successfully destroyed 35 out of 39 attack drones launched by Russia overnight, while the fifth drone attack on Kyiv was intercepted with no casualties reported. In retaliation, Russia claimed to have destroyed eight Ukrainian drones, three over the Belgorod region and three in the Black Sea.
In the realm of cyberspace, Spanish police arrested three people involved in cyberattacks by a pro-Russian group targeting public institutions and strategic sectors in Spain and other NATO countries. The suspects were accused of participating in distributed denial-of-service attacks with terrorist intent.
