IDF Strikes Multiple Houthi Targets in Yemen Following Attacks

The Israeli army retaliated against the Houthi rebel group in Yemen following a fatal drone attack in Tel Aviv. The airstrikes, the first on Yemeni soil since the Israel-Hamas war began, targeted military sites in Al Hudaydah Port. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the strikes a direct response to the attack on Israel, claiming the port was used for military purposes and to smuggle weapons from Iran to the Houthis. The airstrikes resulted in three deaths and at least 87 injuries, with severe burns reported.

The Houthis condemned the Israeli aggression, stating it aimed to increase the suffering of the people and pressure Yemen to stop supporting Gaza. They vowed to remain resolute in their support for Gaza. Pictures and videos showed a large fire at the port and widespread power cuts caused by the strikes on storage facilities and the local electricity company.

Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, denounced the airstrikes as a massacre and dangerous escalation. The Houthis had claimed responsibility for a drone strike near a U.S. Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv that killed one person and injured several others. The attack was confirmed by Israeli authorities, with a civilian killed and 10 others injured. The situation remains tense, with both sides vowing to continue their actions.
