Former Oregon Duck Overcomes Obstacles to Achieve Football Success

Former Oregon Track & Field standout Kylee O’Connor-Harrel is making a name for herself in the world of professional women’s football. Despite facing doubt throughout her athletic career, Kylee has never let others’ limitations define her. After discovering women’s tackle football, Kylee joined the Oregon Ravens in the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC), where she excelled in multiple positions and earned the Special Teams Player of the Year award twice.

Following her success in Oregon, Kylee moved to Boston with her husband to join the Boston Renegades in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA). In her first season with the Renegades, Kylee immediately made an impact with a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown on her first play. She currently leads the WFA in punt return yards and was named an All-American in special teams.

As the Renegades prepare for the WFA National Championship game against the St. Louis Slams, Kylee hopes to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams in sports. She believes that showcasing women competing at the highest level in leagues like the WFA is crucial for encouraging young girls to participate in tackle football. Kylee’s determination and success on the field exemplify the potential for women in professional sports.

Fans can catch Kylee and the Renegades in action on ESPN 2 this Saturday at 2 p.m. EST as they compete for the WFA National Championship. For more sports news and updates, viewers can reach out to sports anchor and reporter Brett Taylor at btaylor@kezi.com.
