German police stopped a far-right protest before it could disrupt a Pride event in Leipzig on Saturday. The counterdemonstrators, including neo-Nazis, were halted inside Leipzig Central Station due to the suspected use of unconstitutional symbols. Up to a thousand people had registered for the protest, but were unable to proceed. In response, hundreds of counter-counter protesters gathered to support the Pride march as part of Christopher Street Day. Police presence was significantly increased for the event, with hundreds of officers deployed from Saxony and other German states. The Pride event went ahead as planned, with security measures in place to ensure the safety of participants.
