Netanyahu warns that Sunday’s strikes on Hezbollah are just the beginning

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the recent large-scale attack on Hezbollah missile positions in Lebanon is “not the end of the story.” This comes after Israel launched air strikes on Hezbollah in retaliation for them launching rockets and drones following the killing of one of their top commanders last month. The heavy exchange of fire has raised concerns of a potential all-out war that could involve the United States, Iran, and other militant groups in the region. This escalation could also affect ceasefire efforts in Gaza, where Israel has been in conflict with Hamas for over 10 months.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has said that the group’s attack on Israel was delayed to allow for Gaza ceasefire talks. However, recent negotiations in Cairo have not resulted in an agreement, with Hamas rejecting new Israeli conditions. Despite this, talks are set to continue at lower levels in the coming days. Both Hamas and Israel have blamed each other for the lack of progress in the negotiations.

Netanyahu has maintained that the conflict in Gaza will persist until Hamas is completely eliminated, regardless of any ceasefire agreements. The situation in the region remains tense, with the possibility of further escalation looming. Efforts are being made to bridge the gaps between the parties involved in order to reach a final and implementable agreement.
