Guidry was arrested on charges of assaulting and strangling Brenna, with the incident taking place on July 7 and reported on August 20.
The search for Brenna began after a welfare check at her apartment did not locate her or her car. Her father, Greg Swindell, reported her missing on Sunday, leading to a multi-state search effort. The situation was resolved when Brenna was discovered in Oregon, bringing relief to her family.

Law enforcement tracked Brenna’s white 2022 Kia Carnival to Colorado before locating her in Oregon.
