Travel from Eugene to the Oregon Coast with cost-effective options on Link Lane

Link Lane, operated by Lane Council of Governments (LCOG), offers a convenient and affordable way to travel from Eugene to the Oregon Coast for just $5. Since its inception in 2019, the service has provided a crucial link for residents without vehicles or those seeking a safer alternative to driving on Highway 126.

The service connects passengers to LTD’s bus network, improving access to recreation, employment, and medical services. Kathleen Flynn, LTD Mobility Services Grants Specialist, emphasizes the importance of safe, accessible, and affordable public transportation in connecting people to essential resources and opportunities.

Link Lane’s Florence-Eugene Connector service operates two roundtrips per day, seven days a week, with additional midday trips on select days. Fares are $5 between Eugene and Florence, $2.50 between Florence and Yachats, and $1 between Mapleton and Florence. Bicycles are welcome on a space-available basis.

The service is funded by Oregon’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund and supported by key partnerships with agencies like LTD and the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians. Kate Wilson, Senior Planner for LCOG, highlights the community’s role in advocating for the service and the positive impact it has had on connecting coastal communities.

For schedule and ticket information, passengers can visit Link-Lane.org. With the Link Lane service, residents and visitors alike can enjoy a stress-free journey to the Oregon Coast without the hassle of driving themselves.
