Roger O’Donnell, keyboardist for The Cure, shared on social media that he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma last September. After undergoing surgery and 11 months of treatment, including immunotherapy, medication, and radiotherapy, he is currently in good health with a positive prognosis. O’Donnell emphasized the importance of early detection for cancer and encouraged those experiencing symptoms to get tested as soon as possible. He also urged fans to support and talk to those who are ill, as every word helps. O’Donnell, who joined The Cure in 1987, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2019. He had to pull out of the Latin American tour last year due to health reasons but performed with the band during their North American tour. O’Donnell’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing health and seeking medical attention if any symptoms of blood cancer are observed.
