Early Monday morning, four people were killed in a shooting on a Chicago Transit Authority train at the Blue Line station in Forest Park. Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth victim died at Loyola University Medical Center. The suspect was later found on a Pink Line train through video surveillance and taken into custody. Law enforcement has not identified the victims pending notification of next of kin. The shooting appears to be targeted and isolated, with only one suspect believed to be involved. The motivation behind the shooting is still under investigation. The Chicago Transit Authority called the shooting a “heinous and egregious act of violence” and is cooperating with local police to investigate the incident. The CTA immediately deployed resources, including reviewing security camera footage, to aid in the investigation. Law enforcement officials emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
