The final of the women’s wheelchair basketball between the Netherlands and USA is set to begin in ten minutes. Previously, China beat Canada for the bronze in women’s wheelchair basketball. In canoeing, Vladyslav Yepifanov of Ukraine won gold in the VL3 Va’a single 200m event, with Jack Eyers of GB winning silver. In powerlifting, Tayana Medeiros of Brazil set a Paralympic record to win gold in the women’s up to 86kg event. Laura Sugar of GB also set a Paralympic record to win gold in the women’s KL3 kayak single 200m. Charlotte Henshaw of GB won gold in the women’s KL2 200m kayak single event. Katherinne Wollermann of Chile won gold in the women’s KL1 200m kayak single event.
The women’s T12 marathon was won by Fatima El Idrissi of Morocco in a world record time. In the men’s T12 marathon, Wajdi Boukhili of Tunisia took gold. In powerlifting, Zhang Feifei of China leads the 86kg event. The events left for the day include two more canoeing finals, a powerlifting final, and the women’s wheelchair basketball final. Athletes like Jack Eyers, Charlotte Henshaw, and Emma Wiggs will be competing in these final events. Stay tuned for the closing ceremony later in the evening to mark the end of the Paralympic Games.
