Columbia Gorge News reports Gorge organizations honored with Oregon Cultural Trust awards


The Oregon Cultural Trust has recently awarded several organizations in the Columbia Gorge region for their cultural contributions. A total of ten organizations received grants, which ranged from $2,500 to $7,000.

One of the recipients of the award was the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum, which received $7,000. The museum is known for its exhibits on the history of the Columbia Gorge region, and the grant will support their efforts to educate the public about the area’s cultural significance.

Other organizations that received grants include the Gorge Art & Cultural Center, the Mid-Columbia Community Concert Association, and the Cascade Locks Historical Museum. These organizations were recognized for their contributions to the cultural life of the region and will use the grant money to further their important work.

The Oregon Cultural Trust aims to support cultural organizations throughout the state and is funded by a unique tax credit system that allows individuals to donate to the trust and receive a tax credit in return. This year, the trust awarded a total of $57,819 to organizations in the Columbia Gorge region.

The grants will help these organizations continue to provide valuable cultural programming to residents and visitors in the Columbia Gorge region. By supporting these organizations, the Oregon Cultural Trust is helping to ensure that the cultural heritage of the area is preserved and celebrated for years to come.
