Colin Farrell ran the last 4 kilometers of the Dublin Marathon pushing his friend Emma Fogarty, who lives with a rare skin condition called epidermolysis bullosa (EB). This condition causes painfully fragile skin that easily blisters. Fogarty, who turned 40 in June, is the oldest person in Ireland living with this condition. Despite being born with the most severe form of EB, she went on to run the marathon with Farrell, who raised funds for the charity DEBRA that supports people with EB. Originally hoping to raise €400,000, the duo now aims to reach a million euros. They appeared on Ireland’s “The Late Late Show” to bring awareness to EB and their fundraising efforts. Fogarty expressed her trust in Farrell as he helped to push her through the final leg of the race. The pair crossed the finish line just before 1 p.m. local time, with Farrell completing the entire marathon in just over 4 hours. With Farrell’s support, Fogarty continues to defy the odds and raise awareness for EB, inspiring others along the way.
