A 20-year-old man from Klamath Falls, Oregon, has been indicted on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Elijah Albert Croy was arrested after admitting to shooting two sisters and attempting to shoot their father. The incident occurred in east Klamath Falls last weekend. The victims have not been identified, but the sisters were 14 and 19 years old. Croy allegedly used a handgun that he assembled himself to commit the crimes. The Klamath Falls Police Department is investigating the double homicide, and Croy is also facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon.
The Klamath Tribes have expressed deep mourning for the loss of the sisters and are calling for justice to be served. The tribal community has been affected by an increase in violent crimes, prompting a need for better investigation and prosecution of such cases. The sisters’ father has thanked the community for their support, emphasizing the need for unity and protection of youth. Tribal leaders are advocating for justice for the Indigenous sisters and calling for awareness of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples movement.
The Klamath Tribes are urging law enforcement to take these crimes seriously and prosecute the criminals aggressively. Croy’s arraignment is set for July 9, 2024. The community remains in shock and mourning over the tragic loss of the two young sisters as they seek justice and support each other during this difficult time.
