Beavers Anticipate Stronger Showdown with Oregon This Season

Beavers Prepare for High-Stakes Rivalry Game Against Ducks

Corvallis, OR – The sting of last season’s narrow defeat to Oregon still lingers for Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle and his squad. The Beavers lost a heartbreaker to the Ducks in Corvallis, capped by a last-second dunk from N’Faly Dante. Reflecting on that game, Tinkle noted, "The Ducks played more aggressive and dominated on the boards." However, he believes this year’s revamped OSU roster is ready to match their intensity.

As the Beavers gear up for their rivalry matchup against Oregon, Tinkle emphasized the importance of continuous improvement. "It’s early, and we need to get better," he stated. Both teams are entering the game undefeated at 4-0, and Tinkle sees this contest as a critical assessment of his team’s progress. "It will give us an idea of where we’re at, but either way, we’ll learn from it as we have a long season ahead," he added.

OSU forward echoed Tinkle’s sentiments, mentioning that while it’s still early in the season, the game against Oregon will serve as a litmus test. "It would definitely tell us where we are right now," he said, acknowledging the Ducks’ talent and coaching superiority compared to previous opponents.

The highly anticipated matchup is set to take place on Thursday, November 21st, at 7 p.m. in Gill Coliseum, with streaming available on ESPN Plus. As the Beavers remain focused on the rivalry, they are eager to demonstrate their growth and resilience against a formidable opponent.
