Villanova University has announced the appointment of Eric Roedl, a graduate of the school and current deputy athletic director at the University of Oregon, as their next athletic director. Roedl will take over the role in January 2025, succeeding Mark Jackson who left to join Northwestern University.
With extensive experience in athletic administration, including roles at Oregon and Temple University, Roedl is seen as a leader who embodies Villanova’s mission and values. Former Temple AD Bill Bradshaw praised Roedl’s hire, highlighting his proven track record in athletic administration. In the meantime, interim AD Lynn Tighe will continue to lead Villanova’s athletic department until Roedl officially assumes his new role in the new year.
