Ryan Tores, a senior at Syracuse University, has always loved using technology in creative ways. In high school, he created an online version of Big Brother that became a hit during the pandemic. Now majoring in Information Management and Technology and Linguistic Studies, Tores is preparing for a career that combines his diverse interests.
Tores was drawn to the iSchool at Syracuse after the success of his high school project. His experience at the school has been fulfilling, with friendly professors and a variety of courses that have allowed him to build a solid foundation for his future career. Tores is a member of the Syrvivor club, which hosts a college version of Survivor, showcasing his continued creativity.
Last summer, Tores interned at Synchrony in Stamford, Conn., where he was able to work on meaningful projects and experience the company’s culture. He has been offered a full-time position with the company’s Business Leadership Program, allowing him to explore different roles in the tech world over the next few years.
As he nears graduation, Tores encourages his peers to take advantage of opportunities and join clubs and organizations to enhance their skills and experiences. He credits his success to the leadership skills he gained from student organizations and the support of those around him. Tores looks forward to paying it forward and helping others achieve their goals in the future. Through hard work, creativity, and a willingness to take chances, Tores has set himself on a path to a successful and fulfilling career in the tech industry.
