Villanova signs Oregon softball player Carly Zych | Sports

Oregon senior Carly Zych recently signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball at Villanova, where she will be a multi-position player as both a pitcher and outfielder. Zych cited the welcoming atmosphere at Villanova, as well as the opportunity to play under coach Bridget Orchard, as reasons for choosing the school. She mentioned that visiting the campus last November solidified her decision.

Zych has an impressive track record in high school softball, helping lead Oregon to a sectional final appearance and winning a conference championship in 2023. She has also had success as both a hitter and pitcher, with impressive stats in both areas. This fall, Zych played club softball with Virginia Glory where she focused on improving her pitching techniques and increasing her velocity.

Looking ahead, Zych’s goal is to help lead her team to another sectional final, with the ultimate goal of making it to the state championships. She expressed excitement about taking this next step in her softball career and is eager to continue her success at the collegiate level.

Overall, Zych’s signing with Villanova is a significant achievement and highlights her skill and dedication to the sport. Softball fans can look forward to seeing her excel in her new role at Villanova.
