The results of Portland’s first multi-winner ranked choice City Council election have been finalized, with Jamie Dunphy and Eric Zimmerman clinching the last two remaining seats. Dunphy defeated Terrence Hayes in east Portland’s District 1, while Zimmerman emerged victorious over Eli Arnold in District 4, covering the west side and parts of Southeast Portland.
Dunphy secured his victory with a lead of 791 votes over Hayes, while Zimmerman had an 840-vote advantage over Arnold. They will join 10 other candidates who were previously declared winners by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
The newly elected council members include Candace Avalos, Loretta Smith, Sameer Kanal, Elana Pirtle-Guiney, Dan Ryan, Tiffany Koyama-Lane, Angelita Morillo, Steve Novick, Olivia Clark, and Mitch Green, who will all take office in January alongside newly elected Portland Mayor Keith Wilson.
