Multiple Trump nominees for high-ranking positions have been threatened with bombs and ‘swatting’ incidents.

President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in bomb threats and “swatting” attacks, which are hoax calls to police claiming a dangerous situation. These threats were not credible, and no physical threats or devices were found. Some of the threats may have come over social media. The FBI is aware of these incidents and working with law enforcement to address them.

Among those targeted were Rep. Elise Stefanik, former Rep. Lee Zeldin, Brooke Rollins, and former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who withdrew his nomination as U.S. attorney general last week. Stefanik, Zeldin, and Rollins confirmed receiving threats but were unharmed. Gaetz’s home was searched by a bomb squad following a threat.

The Trump transition team expressed gratitude for law enforcement’s swift action in ensuring the safety of the targeted individuals. They stated that these threats would not deter them from their duties. Similar tactics have been used in the past against individuals viewed as adversaries of Trump.

While these threats did not involve Trump or Vice President-elect JD Vance, they highlight the need for vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities. Law enforcement is actively investigating these incidents to ensure the safety of incoming administration officials.
