Boston College Falls to Oregon State in Baha Mar Championship Final
In a closely contested matchup, the Boston College women’s basketball team suffered a narrow 54-49 defeat against Oregon State in the final of the Continental Tires Baha Mar Championship on Wednesday. The loss brings Boston College’s record to 6-3, while Oregon State improves to 2-5 for the season.
T’yana Todd led the Eagles with a team-high 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Teya Sidberry contributed significantly, grabbing eight rebounds along with five points and five steals. The game featured intense competition, with neither team leading by more than eight points throughout and the score tied six times with 14 lead changes.
Key moments included a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Todd at the end of the third quarter, which brought the Eagles within one point, 40-39. This sparked a 9-0 run, with Boston College taking a 45-40 lead late in the fourth after a Sidberry layup and Kaylah Ivey’s three-pointer. However, the Beavers rebounded to tie the game at 46-46 with just 1:30 to go and ultimately outscored the Eagles 8-3 in the closing moments.
Boston College’s largest lead came during the second period, where they surged ahead 22-14 following an 11-2 run. Unfortunately, Oregon State finished the half strong, scoring the last nine points to lead 23-22 at halftime.
Boston College will next face off against Arkansas in the SEC-ACC Challenge on December 5 at 7 p.m. ET as they look to bounce back from this tough loss. In a notable individual achievement, Ivey reached a milestone with 358 career assists, ranking her 10th all-time in school history. Sidberry also had a standout tournament, averaging four steals per game.
