Chavez-DeRemer, who was recently nominated to lead the U.S. Labor Department by President Trump, said the incident occurred on Tuesday night. The FBI Portland confirmed multiple bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees, including other individuals such as Rep. Elise Stefanik and Matt Gaetz. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the threat against Chavez-DeRemer, with the FBI handling the investigation. Other targets included Susie Wiles and Pam Bondi. Chavez-DeRemer, who represents Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, lost the recent election to Democratic Oregon state Rep. Janelle Bynum.
