Oregon Celebrates the 38th Annual Candlelight Walk on Nov. 30
Oregon, IL – The festive spirit will come alive in downtown Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 30, as the community gathers for the 38th annual Candlelight Walk. This cherished event features a myriad of activities suitable for all ages and will culminate with the lighting of the Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn at 6 p.m.
From 3 to 8 p.m., local streets and Conover Square will be bustling with holiday cheer. Families can enjoy various attractions including a Kid’s Winter Carnival hosted by the United Methodist Church. Kids can meet Santa, participate in games and crafts, and even write their own letters to Santa.
Additional highlights throughout the day include:
- Candy Cane Lane on Franklin Street, showcasing food vendors and a performance by the Byron Dance Academy at 4 p.m.
- The Serenity Shed on N. Third Street, featuring a Build-A-Buddy Workshop with Build-A-Pet Clubhouse.
- The Snack Shack at Sarah Phelps Community Plaza offering warm donuts and hot drinks with the Snow Queen.
- Coliseum Museum will host performances from the Oregon High School Madrigals, Byron Dance Academy at 5 p.m., Oregon High School Jazz Band at 6 p.m., along with wagon rides and the Cocoa Hut, plus a free Holley Trolley for easy navigation.
- Sip-N-Shop at River’s Edge Experience on First Street will feature an array of holiday craft vendors for those looking for unique gifts.
