The Oregon Ducks are set to showcase a brand new uniform combination during their first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game against Penn State. The Ducks will be sporting black jerseys and pants from their new “Fly Era” uniform set, along with apple green helmets featuring a chrome “O” on the sides and a black facemask. These jerseys blend elements from past uniform designs, including the diamond-plate design and wings on the shoulders.
The helmets, inspired by Oregon’s traditional 1990s design, were previously worn in victories over Idaho, Boise State, and Oregon State. This will be the seventh time in school history that Oregon wears green helmets with black jerseys and pants, with the last occurrence being a win over Oklahoma State in the 2008 Holiday Bowl.
On the other side, the Nittany Lions will stick with their classic all-white road uniforms for the game. This marks the first time Penn State will wear this combination in Indianapolis, as they donned their home uniforms during their 2016 Big Ten title game victory over Wisconsin.
