The Red Cross vehicles have arrived at the Port of Gaza where Hamas is expected to handover Israeli American hostage Keith Siegel, the last of three hostages to be released. His wife, Aviva Siegel, and son, Shay, are on their way to meet him. Two other hostages, Ofer Kalderon and Yarden Bibas, were handed over earlier in Khan Younis. The hostages will be exchanged for 183 Palestinian prisoners and detainees, including those with life sentences. The hostages are expected to be released in exchange for 30 Palestinian prisoners and detainees each according to the terms of the deal.
The orderly handover of the two hostages was streamed live on TV, with masked Hamas militants parading them across a stage in Khan Younis. Kalderon and Bibas have arrived at an initial reception point in southern Israel, where their families are waiting to reunite with them at the hospital. Questions remain over the fate of Bibas’ wife and young children who were also taken hostage, with Hamas claiming they were killed in an Israeli airstrike.
Siegel is expected to be the third hostage to be released today. The Israeli military has confirmed the handover of Kalderon and Bibas and is prepared to receive an additional hostage in the near future. The hostage exchange is ongoing in Gaza, with Siegel among the three hostages named by Hamas for release.
