All 10 passengers aboard missing Alaska plane confirmed deceased following crash

All 10 people aboard a small plane that went missing on a flight from Unalakleet to Nome in Alaska have been confirmed dead after the wreckage was discovered crashed. The victims included nine passengers and one pilot. The deceased were identified as people from various Alaskan cities, including Nome, Wasilla, Anchorage, Eagle River, and Unalakleet. Recovery efforts focused on retrieving the victims and then working on recovering the wreckage. Three bodies were found inside the wreckage on Friday, and the severity of the crash led officials to determine that survival was not possible for the other passengers. The victims included two employees from the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium who were traveling to service a crucial water plant system in Unalakleet. The crash occurred after the plane experienced a rapid loss in elevation and speed, according to radar analysis. The Nome Volunteer Fire Department and Alaska National Guard assisted in the recovery effort, as Nome and Unalakleet are not connected by road and transportation between the two communities relies heavily on air and water travel. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy expressed condolences to the families of the victims, and Senator Lisa Murkowski praised the response efforts despite the tragic outcome.
