Husker Women Prevail Over Oregon in Overtime

Markowski Leads Nebraska to OT Victory Over Oregon

LINCOLN – In a thrilling matchup at Pinnacle Bank Arena, Alexis Markowski delivered a career-high 35 points and secured 15 rebounds, marking her 50th career double-double, as Nebraska edged Oregon 94-90 in overtime on Wednesday night. The win improved Nebraska’s record to 18-9 overall and 9-7 in the Big Ten, matching Oregon’s season record.

Markowski showcased her skills against Oregon’s 6-8 center Phillipina Kyei, shooting 13-of-24 from the field, including six three-pointers. After a sluggish start, with Nebraska trailing 10-0, Markowski’s back-to-back threes ignited a comeback, helping the Huskers claim a 40-39 halftime lead.

The game saw dramatic swings, with the Huskers falling behind by 14 points late in the third quarter. However, in the fourth quarter, Markowski exploded for 16 points, including a crucial game-tying three-pointer with just 30 seconds left, forcing overtime at 81-81.

In the extra period, Nebraska’s Alberte Rimdal and Callin Hake contributed key three-pointers, helping to establish a late lead. Hake finished the game with 17 points and seven assists, while Rimdal added 15 points off the bench. Logan Nissley also made a noteworthy impact with 16 points and five rebounds.

Despite the back-and-forth contest featuring a combined 27 three-pointers, Nebraska’s dominance on the boards (49-32) proved essential in securing the win. Oregon’s Elisa Mevius and Peyton Scott led the Ducks, each contributing to a strong offensive performance.

Nebraska will host Washington on Sunday for Senior Day, with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. as they look to continue their momentum in the closing stretch of the season.
