Idaho prosecutors are seeking to present an FBI-constructed 3D model of the home where four college students were brutally stabbed to death in 2022 at the suspect’s trial. The three-story King Road house in Moscow was demolished a year after the killings, and the model will show the interior layout of the residence to aid witnesses in their testimony. The request to use the model is part of the prosecution’s strategy to hinder the defense at Bryan Kohberger’s trial, who is accused of the quadruple killings.
The families of two victims had previously requested to postpone the demolition of the home, but prosecutors believed they had gathered enough information to create an exhibit for trial. The judge is considering the motion to limit the defense’s ability to present certain evidence, such as neurological evaluations of Kohberger and alibi evidence not provided directly by him. The defense claims Kohberger was miles away during the murders based on cellphone tower data and late-night drives.
Kohberger faces the death penalty if found guilty at his trial set to begin in August. Last week, the judge denied several defense motions to suppress DNA and other evidence obtained from trash outside Kohberger’s parents’ home in Pennsylvania. The evidence, including cellphone records, surveillance footage, and DNA evidence, will be presented at trial to connect Kohberger to the crime.
