Get Ready for the Annual Colorado Springs Bike Swap this April | Lifestyle Event

The annual Colorado Springs Bike Swap is set to take place on April 12 at SoccerHaus, offering cyclists the opportunity to buy and sell gear for the upcoming summer season. The event will feature industry professionals and enthusiasts selling items such as tubes, tools, apparel, and new and used bikes. Entry is $5 with proceeds benefitting nonprofits Kids on Bikes and Colorado Springs Mountain Bike Association.

Organized by Gabe Alvarado since its launch in 2017, the swap will transition to being organized by Kids on Bikes and the Colorado Springs Mountain Bike Association next year. The event aims to cover expenses and generate funds for local organizations rather than being a major profit-making endeavor.

Individual sellers can rent booths starting at $30, while businesses can get larger, high-traffic spaces for $120. An additional $15 fee allows sellers to add a price-tagged bike to the corral. The swap typically sees between 60-80 vendors and 600-800 attendees each year.

According to Alvarado, the event fosters a strong community of trustworthy individuals, with families often attending to find bikes for their kids. The swap provides a valuable resource for both experienced cyclists and those new to the sport, ensuring fair transactions and access to a wide variety of gear.
