Oregon State Beavers Shine at 2025 Pac-12 Championships with Three Titles and Five NCAA Spots Secured

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Beavers showcased their wrestling prowess at the 2025 Pac-12 Championships, securing three individual titles and earning five automatic berths to the NCAA Championships. Maximo Renteria, Nash Singleton, and TJ McDonnell each claimed conference championships, while Ethan Stiles and Trey Munoz also qualified through NCAA allocation spots.

Oregon State finished the championships in second place with 81.5 points, just behind champion Little Rock with 86.5 points. This year’s event marked a notable NCAA debut for four of the five qualifying student-athletes.

Renteria opened the competition with a commanding 10-2 victory over third-seeded Richie Castro-Sandoval of CSU Bakersfield and maintained control throughout his final match to clinch his NCAA berth. Singleton, the only in-state competitor among the ten Beavers, captured his first conference crown by pinning Little Rock’s Brandon Van Hoecke.

McDonnell, a fourth seed at 184 pounds, staged impressive comebacks to defeat top-seeded Brock Delsignore before ultimately winning the Pac-12 title after extra time against Cal Poly’s Daschle Lamer. Stiles (149) secured his NCAA spot with a strong semifinal victory but fell in the finals to Jordan Williams. Munoz (197) solidified his place at the NCAAs with a decisive major decision win.

The Beavers’ achievements continue a strong trend under coach Chris Pendleton, as they have sent at least five athletes to the NCAA Championships in every season since 2020. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 20-22 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, where the Beavers will aim to build upon their recent success.
