Louisiana AG believes the woman connected to the death of the Super Bowl reporter should not have been free at the time of his death

Louisiana woman Danette Colbert, linked to the death of a Super Bowl reporter, faces allegations from multiple men accusing her of drugging and robbing them. She was convicted in October on charges of computer fraud, theft, and illegal transmission of funds in connection with a scheme that targeted one victim’s life savings. Despite being a habitual offender, Colbert was sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution. However, the state’s attorney general is working to revoke this sentence and pursue harsher penalties due to her criminal history.

Colbert has faced similar allegations in other cases in nearby jurisdictions, including charges in Nevada that were ultimately dismissed. Victims in two other cases believe they were targeted by Colbert posing as an Uber driver in the French Quarter. While no charges have been filed in these instances, New Orleans police claim to investigate all cases.

Colbert has also been accused of fraud and property crimes linked to the death of Telemundo reporter Adan Manzano, whose body was found in a hotel room in Kenner. A toxicology report revealed he had drugs in his system, with evidence of Xanax found at Colbert’s home. Additional charges could be brought pending the completion of an autopsy. Authorities have received multiple complaints of potential victims of Colbert, including another death in a French Quarter hotel room, suggesting a pattern of criminal behavior.
