Oregon Extends Deadline for Food Loss Reporting After February Storm
March 12, 2025
Oregon has secured an extension from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Services, allowing residents impacted by the severe storm on February 24th to have more time to report food losses and request replacement benefits. The original 10-day deadline has been extended to 30 days, giving affected households until March 26th to submit their claims.
According to a release from the Oregon Department of Human Services, the waiver applies to residents in several counties, including Douglas, Coos, Josephine, Lane, Klamath, and 13 others. This decision aims to assist those who faced disruptions due to the storm and experienced losses in food supply.
Affected households can report their food loss and request replacement Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits through various methods: by phone, in person, via email, by mail, or through the One online portal. To facilitate the process, individuals can find the necessary information on form 347D, which is accessible online.
This extension is part of Oregon’s ongoing efforts to support its residents during challenging times, ensuring that those impacted by the recent weather events can regain access to essential food resources. The state encourages all eligible households to take advantage of this extended deadline to secure the assistance they need.
