Girls flag football has officially arrived in Crook County, with the sport debuting this spring after the Oregon Schools Activities Association identified it as an emerging activity in October. The 7-on-7 game played on an 80-yard field has attracted the interest of 26 girls in Crook County, who eagerly joined the team and attended their first practice.
Crook County sophomore Hudson Kudlac and Macee McLean took the initiative to form a team and recruit players after learning about the emerging sport. With the support of their families and coaches, the girls are enthusiastic about the opportunity to play flag football competitively.
Head coach Brad Kudlac, who has a background in coaching and playing tackle football, is focused on teaching the girls the fundamentals of the game and ensuring they have a positive experience. With the support of numerous sponsors and community members, the team is well on their way to a successful season.
The Crook County girls are scheduled to play their first game at Summit High School on April 5, with their first home game on April 11. Those interested in supporting the team can contact Brad Kudlac via email for donation or contribution opportunities.
Flag football’s introduction in Crook County signals a new era for female athletes in the region, providing them with the chance to showcase their skills and passion for the sport on a competitive platform. With the dedication of players, coaches, and supporters, the future looks bright for girls’ flag football in the community.
