Oregon State Rowing Clinches Heluva Good Dip WCC Crew of the Week Honors Again
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Oregon State University’s rowing team has been recognized as the Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Crew of the Week for the second consecutive week. This accolade follows the varsity eight’s impressive victory against Washington State, where they dominated the competition.
During the weekend races, Oregon State’s varsity eight (V8) crew excelled, securing six out of seven victories against the Cougars. The standout performance came when the V8 team clocked a time of 6:14.44, finishing with a margin of over eight seconds ahead of their rivals. This win marks the second week in a row that the Beavers’ V8 has triumphed over a nationally ranked opponent, having previously bested Gonzaga.
The talented V8 lineup includes Coxswain Taylor Denger, stroke Giulia Clerici, and rowers Charlotte Lightfoot, Lauren Garrett, Rhi Loughnan, Tulla Angeley, Annelise Norkitis, Ashtyn Miller, and bow Linda Weitmann.
As recognition for their hard work and achievement, this marks the second consecutive week that Oregon State’s V8 has earned the WCC honor. The team’s previous award date was April 1, and it follows an earlier streak of notable performances by various schools throughout the season, including Sacramento State and Portland.
Under the guidance of their coaching staff and with the relentless spirit they have shown, Oregon State Rowing is poised to continue its strong performance as the season progresses. This latest achievement solidifies their place among the elite in collegiate rowing.
