Oregon State Women’s Basketball Welcomes Transfer Guard Jenna Villa from Washington State

Corvallis, OR – Oregon State University’s women’s basketball team has made a strategic addition to its roster, announcing the transfer of guard Jenna Villa from rival Washington State. The 6-foot-1 sophomore, who averaged 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game during her last season with the Cougars, is expected to enhance the Beavers’ performance in the upcoming season.

Villa became a consistent presence on the court, starting in 29 of 35 games for Washington State last season. She demonstrated her efficiency with a commendable 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio, showcasing her potential to contribute to Oregon State’s offensive play. Despite being unrated as a recruit by 247Sports in 2023, Villa attracted interest from several prominent programs, including Arizona, Ohio State, Washington, and Gonzaga during her high school career in Arlington, Washington.

The Beavers, under the guidance of coach Scott Rueck, are looking to build on a competitive season in which they finished 19-16 and made their 14th NCAA tournament appearance. Oregon State’s impressive run through the Mountain West tournament culminated in a conference championship, although they faced a setback in the NCAA tournament first round against North Carolina.

In addition to Villa’s transfer, Oregon State has also secured Australian guard Katelyn Field from the Class of 2025, indicating a promising future for the program. As of now, the Beavers have not seen any current players enter the transfer portal, suggesting a stable roster heading into the next season.
