Oregon State Dominates UCLA with Strong Offense and Pitching Performance
Los Angeles, CA – In a decisive matchup on Tuesday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium, the sixth-ranked Oregon State Beavers claimed a commanding 7-1 victory over the tenth-ranked UCLA Bruins, showcasing a combination of offensive firepower and solid pitching.
Carson McEntire was the standout for the Beavers (27-7), driving in three runs with two hits, including his second home run of the season. McEntire’s performance began with a single that brought in the first run in the second inning, followed by a pivotal home run in the fourth that pushed the score to 4-1. The Beavers erupted in a five-run fourth inning, further extending their lead with contributions from Wilson Weber and Gavin Turley, who each delivered key hits.
On the mound, rookie Wyatt Queen made a strong debut as a starter, surrendering only two hits and one run across three innings, while striking out two. James DeCremer continued the momentum, pitching three scoreless innings and adding three strikeouts, improving his record to 2-0 this season. Laif Palmer closed out the game, notching his second save of the season with three innings of work, allowing just one hit.
The Bruins (28-8) struggled to find their rhythm against a strong Beaver pitching staff and faced setbacks with Ian May taking the loss after allowing five hits and two runs in just two innings.
With this victory, the Beavers demonstrated their defensive and offensive strengths as they prepare for a three-game series against CSUN starting Thursday night in Northridge, set to stream live on ESPN+.
