Missouri State safety Todric McGee, 21, died from a possible accidental and self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was found at his home after a wellness check and later died from serious injuries at the hospital. McGee was entering his fifth season with the Bears and had previously earned all-conference honors. Head coach Ryan Beard expressed shock and mourning over the loss, asking for privacy for McGee’s family and the football team. McGee, who grew up in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita Northwest High School, was a valuable member of the team and will be missed. The university and football community are grieving and have asked for prayers for McGee and his loved ones. The incident is currently under investigation by the Springfield Police Department.
