Press Release: Joann Stores to Close Over 100 Locations Nationwide, Including Several in Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. — Joann, the well-known crafting and fabrics retailer, has announced the closure of several locations across the U.S., including multiple stores in Oregon, effective Monday. This decision stems from the company’s recent bankruptcy filing, in which it sought approval to close approximately 533 of its 800 stores nationwide.
As part of this initiative, more than 100 Joann locations will shut their doors on Monday, with several already closing in previous weeks. Notably, states hit hardest by the closures include California, which will see 61 stores close; followed by Florida with 36, and Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan, each with 33. Washington will also experience the closure of over 20 outlets.
In Oregon, several stores are affected, including locations in McMinnville, The Dalles, North Bend, Warrenton, Beaverton, and Klamath Falls. The closures are set to take place over the coming weeks, with specific dates for each location yet to be confirmed.
The affected Oregon locations are:
- McMinnville: 1401 N Highway 99W
- The Dalles: 1324 W 6th St
- North Bend: 1611 Virginia Ave
- Warrenton: 180 SW Neptune Drive, Suite A
- Beaverton: 4005 SW 117th St
- Klamath Falls: 2880 S 6th St
Additional stores in Albany, Clackamas, Corvallis, Grants Pass, Hillsboro, Lincoln City, Oregon City, Redmond, and Springfield are also slated for closure, though specific timelines are yet to be determined.
As the company transitions through these closures, the impact on local communities and employees remains to be seen.
