Georgia Football Recruiting: Jared Curtis, Top QB for 2026, Reaffirms Commitment to Bulldogs Over Oregon

Jared Curtis Recommits to Georgia, Boosting Bulldogs’ 2026 Recruiting Class

In a significant move for Georgia’s football program, Jared Curtis, the top-ranked quarterback recruit for the 2026 class, has recommitted to the Bulldogs. The announcement came during a live segment on 247Sports’ YouTube channel, signaling the conclusion of a highly competitive recruitment that also involved Oregon.

Curtis, who initially pledged to Georgia in March 2024 before decommitting last October, has solidified his commitment once again. His return is particularly notable as he would be the highest-rated quarterback to join Georgia from high school since Justin Fields, who was ranked No. 2 overall in the 2018 recruiting class.

Georgia has demonstrated consistent success in securing quarterback talent in recent years. This includes commitments from four-star prospects Ryan Montgomery and Ryan Puglisi, set to contribute to the Bulldogs’ depth chart this fall. Curtis’ commitment has also propelled Georgia’s recruiting class nine spots up to No. 17, showcasing the potential impact of his addition.

According to Andrew Ivins, Director of Scouting at 247Sports, Curtis is praised for his combination of a strong build, polished throwing mechanics, and athleticism. His prowess as a pocket passer is complemented by the ability to read defenses and deliver accurate throws, making him a formidable player on the field. Curtis’ talent and skills in sidestepping pressure and adjusting his throws further enrich his profile as an elite quarterback.

Joining Curtis in the 2026 recruiting class are four-star safety Zach Fort and four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford, creating a promising foundation for Georgia’s future. The Bulldogs continue to position themselves as a national contender with this recruitment success.
