Amazon to Establish New Delivery Station in Redmond, Enhancing Central Oregon’s Logistics

REDMOND, Ore. – Amazon is set to enhance package delivery times across Central Oregon with the construction of a new delivery station in Redmond, as announced by Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO). The facility, spanning 83,559 square feet, will be built north of Highway 126 at the intersection of East Antler Avenue and Northeast Ninth Street, with construction commencing this month and a projected opening in spring 2026.

Once operational, the station is expected to employ approximately 170 individuals, marking a significant boost to local employment. This facility will serve as a pivotal hub where packages are organized and dispatched for final delivery to customers, streamlining logistics in the region.

Redmond Mayor Ed Fitch expressed appreciation for Amazon’s investment, stating, “Their announcement acknowledges Redmond as a great place to do business.” He noted the collaborative efforts between the city, Redmond Economic Development Inc., and private sectors, which were crucial in bringing the project to fruition.

The development has been three years in the making, involving the careful rerouting of essential infrastructure, including irrigation canals and gas lines, to accommodate the new construction.

Steve Curley, Director of REDI at EDCO, hailed the project as a “game-changer for Redmond.” He emphasized that beyond job creation and tax revenue increases, the facility will strengthen regional logistics, enhance consumer service, and solidify Redmond’s role as a strategic center for distribution and transportation.

With this development, Central Oregon is poised for improved delivery services and economic growth, further establishing its importance in the logistics landscape.
