Central Oregon Veterans Ranch Hosts Successful 8th Annual Plant Sale
BEND, Ore. — The Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR) celebrated its 8th Annual Plant Sale on Sunday, fostering community support for local veterans through gardening initiatives. The event featured a diverse array of vegetable and herb starts, vibrant flowers, hanging baskets, and booths from local vendors, all aimed at raising funds for the Ranch’s programs.
Executive Director Heather Martin highlighted the crucial role of fundraisers like the Plant Sale, stating, “It’s tough for everyone right now; fundraisers like these help us keep the doors open and serve those who have served us.” Proceeds from the sale directly benefit the Ranch’s services, which include agricultural therapy, peer support, and essential mental health resources for veterans.
Nestled on 19 acres in Bend, COVR is committed to creating a supportive environment for veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. The Ranch is open to the public on Saturdays, while veterans are welcomed from Monday through Saturday. To further engage the community, volunteer days are held every Thursday, allowing locals to lend a hand and connect with veterans.
This year’s Plant Sale not only provided fresh produce and flowers but also reinforced the community’s commitment to honoring and assisting those who have served the nation.
