David Njoku’s Second Annual Celebrity Softball Game Set to Shine in Eastlake, Ohio
EASTLAKE, Ohio — Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is gearing up for his second annual celebrity softball game at Classic Auto Group Park on June 19, promising an exciting evening under the lights. Following in the footsteps of previous hosts such as Jarvis Landry and Greg Newsome II, Njoku hosted a star-studded inaugural game last year, featuring notable personalities including Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who stole the show by winning the Home Run Derby.
This year’s event is already attracting a roster of big names, with confirmed participants including fitness influencer Bakhar Nabieva, rapper and Cleveland native Cotrell Dennard (aka Doe Boy), and Browns players Joe Flacco, Jabrill Peppers, and Jerry Jeudy among others. "We have some great people coming. It’s really exciting," Njoku remarked, highlighting the anticipation surrounding the lineup.
The celebrity softball game will shift to a primetime format this year, with the Home Run Derby starting at 6 p.m. and the game at 7 p.m. Njoku expressed enthusiasm about the electric atmosphere of playing at night, suggesting it could bring more energy to the proceedings. "It’s a different atmosphere under the lights… I have to be primetime," he said.
Last year, Njoku’s team faced a tough loss against Myles Garrett’s squad, with a score of 20-5. Determined to turn the tables this time, he laughed, stating, "We got embarrassed… we’re going to be ready."
