Portland Air National Guard Honors Memorial Day with Fighter Jet Flyovers

The Portland Air National Guard is set to honor Memorial Day with over a dozen flyovers across Oregon and southwest Washington on Monday. The aerial tributes, featuring F-15 Eagle fighter jets, will commence after 9 a.m. and continue until approximately 11:30 a.m. The flyovers will start at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, with additional locations spanning cities such as Oregon City, Springfield, Woodburn, Dallas, and Vancouver.

Flying at speeds of around 400 mph and at altitudes of roughly 1,000 feet, the demonstrations will include participation from two pilots of the 142nd Wing, including Major Graham Johnson. “It’s an incredible honor to fly for the Air National Guard on Memorial Day, paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom,” Johnson expressed.

The detailed flyover schedule is as follows:

  • 9:14 a.m. – Forest Lawn Cemetery, Gresham
  • 9:30 a.m. – Veterans Memorial, Springfield
  • 10:13 a.m. – Mt. View Cemetery, Oregon City
  • 10:15 a.m. – Willamette National Cemetery, Portland
  • 10:18 a.m. – Adams Memorial Cemetery, Molalla
  • 10:25 a.m. – Timber Linn Memorial Park, Albany
  • 10:33 a.m. – Depoe Bay
  • 10:55 a.m. – Dallas Cemetery, Dallas
  • 10:58 a.m. – Restlawn Memory Gardens, Salem
  • 11:00 a.m. – WWII Memorial, Salem
  • 11:05 a.m. – Calvary Cemetery, Mt. Angel
  • 11:06 a.m. – Belle Passi Cemetery, Woodburn
  • 11:11 a.m. – Veterans Memorial Park, Beaverton
  • 11:15 a.m. – Fir Lawn Memorial Park, Hillsboro
  • 11:16 a.m. – Forest View Cemetery, Forest Grove
  • 11:19 a.m. – Vernonia Memorial Cemetery, Vernonia
  • 11:28 a.m. – Fort Vancouver, Vancouver, Wash.
