Oregon Ducks Poised for Major Recruiting Gains in 2026 Class
Eugene, OR – The Oregon Ducks football program is on the cusp of a significant recruiting surge as 2026 approaches. Following an impressive start to the recruiting year, head coach Dan Lanning’s team is set to potentially secure commitments from high-profile prospects in the coming weeks.
Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell and five-star quarterback Jared Curtis are both slated to announce their commitments shortly, and Oregon appears to be in a strong position to land these elite talents.
Adding to the excitement, the Ducks are also in the running for another standout: five-star EDGE Richard Wesley. On3’s Steve Wiltfong has forecasted Wesley’s commitment to Oregon, putting them ahead of heavyweight contenders like Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC. Originally a member of the 2027 class, Wesley has reclassified to 2026 and is recognized as the No. 20 overall player and No. 3 EDGE by the 247Sports Composite.
Wesley visited Eugene this past weekend for the Ducks’ spring game, where he experienced the electric atmosphere of a game day. This visit was particularly notable as Oregon set a program record with 10 players selected in the 2025 NFL draft, showcasing the team’s ability to develop talent for the next level.
While there is no official commitment date set for Wesley, the momentum clearly favors the Ducks as they aim to bolster their 2026 class with these top prospects.
