Oregon-Brooklyn Lions Club Hosts Annual “Stuff the Bus” Event
The Oregon-Brooklyn Lions Club is set to hold its 13th annual “Stuff the Bus” event on August 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walgreens, located at 704 N. Main St., Oregon. This community initiative collects essential school supplies for local students and has successfully gathered over $70,000 worth of donations over the years, thanks to the generosity of community members.
The Lions Club expresses gratitude to Walgreens for allowing the use of their parking lot and to Erik Buskager for providing the bus used for this charitable effort. Through the continued support of residents, the initiative ensures that area children have the necessary supplies to thrive in their education.
Alex Marks, the Community Education and Recreation Director at the Oregon School District, has highlighted this year’s most needed supplies. These essential items include markers, pencils, dry erase markers, two-pocket folders, glue sticks, notebooks, scissors, highlighters, and large backpacks.
In addition to the main event, donation bins will be available at Walgreens and the Oregon Public Library until August 2, allowing residents to contribute even if they cannot attend the event.
