Ducks Stun Ole Miss with Walk-Off Victory in Extra Innings

Oklahoma City—In a thrilling showdown at the 2025 Women’s College World Series, the Oregon Ducks pulled off a dramatic 6-5 win over Ole Miss after three extra innings in an elimination round match Friday night. The Ducks secured their place in the tournament with a walk-off walk in the 10th inning, demonstrating their resilience and tenacity.

Oregon initially surged ahead, rallying to a 5-2 lead by the end of the fifth inning thanks to a series of clutch hits. However, facing elimination, Ole Miss staged a determined comeback. Down to their last out in the top of the seventh, the Rebels managed to score three runs, including a crucial two-run single from Jamie Mackay, leveling the score at 5-5 and signaling extra innings.

Both teams showcased impressive pitching performances. For the Ducks, starter Lyndsey Grein delivered 9.1 innings with seven strikeouts and four earned runs. On the other side, Ole Miss’s Aliyah Binford excelled in relief, striking out seven batters without conceding runs over five innings.

As the game entered the 10th, tension filled the air. After loading the bases with no outs through an infield single and an error, Oregon’s Kedre Luschar drew a five-pitch walk to score the winning run, igniting celebrations across the field.

With this hard-fought victory, the Ducks keep their championship hopes alive and advance to face another elimination challenge on Sunday. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, the loss ends their season on a bittersweet note after a valiant effort to rally late in the game.

Stay tuned as Oregon prepares to continue its journey in the World Series, striving to reclaim glory.
