Band manager confirms Crazy Town singer Seth Binzer died from accidental overdose, Music Artist’s cause of death revealed

US singer Seth Binzer, best known as Shifty Shellshock from rap-rock band Crazy Town, passed away at the age of 49 due to an accidental drug overdose. His manager, Howie Hubberman, revealed that Binzer ingested a lethal combination of prescription and street drugs, resulting in his death. Despite details from the medical examiner still pending, Hubberman expressed regret for enabling Binzer’s substance abuse struggles.

Binzer, who openly battled addiction, was the subject of a documentary by Soleil Moon Frye, his girlfriend at the time. The film depicted his daily struggles with substance abuse, emphasizing the need to raise awareness about addiction. In the United States, drug-involved overdoses claimed nearly 108,000 lives in 2022, underscoring the severity of the crisis.

Crazy Town’s hit song “Butterfly” propelled them to fame in 2001 but subsequent albums failed to replicate its success. Binzer also collaborated on Paul Oakenfold’s single “Starry Eyed Surprise,” achieving moderate chart success. Despite personal and professional challenges, Binzer continued to make music and was part of the VH1 reality show Celebrity Rehab.

Hubberman expressed remorse for not providing Binzer with the necessary support to overcome his addiction, emphasizing the singer’s dedication to his children. Binzer’s death is a tragic reminder of the toll of substance abuse and the importance of addressing mental health and addiction issues in the music industry and beyond.
