Democrats plan to apply pressure on Trump by labeling him a ‘chicken’ in order to encourage him to debate Harris

In an effort to lure Donald Trump back to the debate stage with Vice President Kamala Harris, Democrats plan to launch a new messaging campaign branding Trump as a “chicken” for refusing to debate again. The Democratic National Committee will use static and mobile billboards with an image of Trump in a chicken suit and the words “There’s no debate: Donald Trump’s a chicken.” Initially, the DNC planned to have staffers in chicken suits at Trump rallies, but that plan has been scrapped. Despite Trump’s declaration on Truth Social that there will be no third debate, Harris has accepted CNN’s invitation for a debate on October 23, citing the same format and setup as a previous CNN debate that Trump participated in and praised. While Trump has indicated a desire for other outlets to host debates, he reiterated his decision not to debate again in a rally in North Carolina, stating that voting has already started in some states. The DNC noted that in the 2020 cycle, Biden and Trump debated after early voting had begun. The Trump campaign has not yet responded to the messaging campaign.
